Last week we said goodbye to one of our longstanding members of staff. Russ ran our stores department for over 25 years, and I’ve had the pleasure of working with him twice!
Russ’s departure is a bittersweet reminder of the immense value that dedicated, long-term employees bring to our organisation. Over his tenure with us, Russ became an integral part of our team, not just through his individual contributions, but in the way he embodied our company’s culture and values.
His commitment and institutional knowledge have been invaluable assets that can’t easily be replaced.
Russ also brought a level of stability and continuity to his department during times of change and growth. While it’s always hard to say goodbye to someone who has been such a loyal stalwart, his impact will endure, both in the strong foundation he helped build and the example he set for the rest of his team.
As we bid him a fond farewell and best wishes for the future, we’re reminded of the importance of cultivating an environment that encourages and rewards the kind of long-term commitment Russ exemplified.
Retaining key personnel is critical for maintaining the strong fabric of knowledge, relationships, and shared mission that drive our ongoing success.
