Cambridge Education and Enterprise

The Lucy Cavendish Enterprise Programme, which Cambridge Precision Ltd sponsor was launched on Friday 4th November with a celebratory Formal Hall Dinner.

  • The Lucy Enterprise programme runs throughout the academic year and is supported by fellows, alumni and friends of the College.
  • Students are invited to join a series of events including a launch in Michaelmas term, a competition in Lent term, and a celebration in Easter term.
  • The LucEnt Challenge invites students to work in a multi-disciplinary team to identify an enterprising solution to a problem relevant to the UN sustainable development goals.

The guest speaker for the evening was Lord Karan Bilimoria, Founder and Chairman of Cobra Beer / Former President of Confederation of British Industry (CBI).

Lord Bilimoria gave an inspiring speech, encouraging the many entrepreneurs, students, investors and business leaders present to follow their dreams with integrity and determination, always looking for opportunity and taking calculated risks. Successful business he reminded us, is not always about great ideas, but rather about simple ideas that solve a proven need.

Lyn Disley, CPL Communications  Manager, attended the launch event, representing our Chairman, Richard Hefford Hobbs, who is a fellow of the college and a member of the steering committee of the Lucent Enterprise programme.
