This is Engineering Day – 3rd November

‘This is Engineering Day,’ is dedicated to publicly celebrating the engineers and engineering shaping the world around us.

Organisations like ours, across the UK, that depend on engineering and the ingenuity of engineers, will be joining the Royal Academy of Engineering to celebrate engineers and inspire the next generation about the broad world of engineering.

Against the backdrop of COP26, this year This is Engineering Day is shining a light on the engineers and engineering making a net zero future possible.

The Royal Academy of Engineering has commissioned a digital artist to rework classic paintings by Monet, Van Gogh, Constable and Pissarro to show how engineering innovations could change our world to meet the goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2050. The Academy has also released new films in the This is Engineering series highlighting how young engineers are improving sustainability.

You can view the paintings online as part of the Engineer the Future collection in the virtual Museum of Engineering Innovation, and the films on the This is Engineering YouTube channel.
