Strengthening Educational ties

CPL is developing a strong relationship with Lucy Cavendish College and increasingly, the mutual benefits of education and enterprise working together are becoming apparent.

This month, key staff from CPL attended a special celebratory dinner, the ‘Lucent Formal Hall’.  The aim of the evening was to catch up on the activities of those who participated in the first Lucent Challenge and to help promote this ongoing collaboration between Lucy Cavendish College, Cambridge Precision Ltd and the Judge Business School.

Those attending included Julie Spence, OBE, The Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Bev Hurley, CBE, the Chief Executive, YTKO Group, Dr Ann Limb, CBE, Nick Raven, Operations Director, Cambridge Precision Ltd and Becky Raven , Head of Resources, Cambridge Precision Ltd.

Richard Hefford Hobbs, Chairman at Cambridge Precision Ltd and Fellow Commoner of Lucy Cavendish College commented ” This was a truly special evening and I can see the relationship between CPL and Lucy, growing daily.  To hear the extraordinary achievements of the students involved in last year’s challenge, Yaw Ofosu Ansong, Eleanor Bird, Tombi Makuyana, Georgina Leadley, Ruohan Zhang, and to connect with those that can help extend the project’s reach such as  Olivia Dovernor (Johnian Entrepreneurs’ Club President)and  Shu yu Liu (CU Chinese Society President) is genuinely uplifting.”

Sharena Sivlal, soon to graduate with an MSt in Entrepreneurship, Property Entrepreneur and host of the Start Up, Start Now Podcast, gave a dynamic after-dinner speech and left the assembled guests energised and raring to steam ahead with new ventures!

A fabulous evening and a significant and symbolic illustration of the benefits of ambitious education/industry partnerships.
